Blue Futurism (Series)
DESCRIPTION
With this new series, I'm seeking to pay homage in my own way to the Cubist and Futurist movements of the 1930s. My aim is to deconstruct the contemporary aesthetic of modern buildings and give it a new representation by reassembling it in a new dynamic composition. Starting from a real shot centred on the rhythms and play of light of the façades, I deconstruct the image and recompose it by multiplying the perspectives and directions to emphasise the geometric recurrences, in the manner of Georges Braque, Robert Delaunay or María Helena Vieira Da Silva. For me, this new focus represents a continuation, but above all a deepening, of the work I began a few years ago on the urban structures that surround us.
AUTHOR
BIO
Passionate photographer for almost 30 years, self-taught after a year in a preparatory art workshop at the Beaux Arts in France.
Early, my artistic outlook and sensitivity were strongly marked by great currents of Modern Art (cubism, futurism, constructivism, surrealism) and their artists (Picasso, Braque, Vieira Da Silva, Rodtchenko, Rothko); all these influences were subsequently found in the aesthetics that I wanted to develop.
Attracted by the repeated and rhythmic geometric forms, the play of lights, colors and materials that one encounters there, I was very quickly interested in the urban landscapes that offer us business districts and construction sites. From their structures, I create real paintings, made of steel, concrete and glass.
These images are composed from real-life shots, and a system of miror effect and framing has enabled me to emphasize the geometric structures, colors and rhythms that make them up, thus inventing a new reality of reality.
