In 2008 I ventured into the breathtaking Himalaya mountains in Bhutan, I found myself in the picturesque village of HAA. The serene landscape was dotted with Indian roadside workers, many of whom had brought their families along. They resided in humble shacks beside the road, creating a sense of community amidst the rugged beauty of the mountains.
During my visit, the winter had cast its chill, with temperatures plummeting to around -20 degrees Celsius. Despite the harsh conditions, the children of these workers were full of life and joy. What struck me, however, was the sight of some of these young ones playing outside in the snow, their feet clad in nothing but flip flops. The resilience and adaptability of these children were truly inspiring.
As a photographer, I was equipped with my Nikon D70s camera, paired with a 50mm Nikon lens. I captured these moments, freezing the laughter and the spirit of these children in the face of adversity. The experience was a poignant reminder of the beauty of human spirit and the importance of cherishing such moments.
