The photo series "The Edge of Emptiness" is a story of isolation, distance, and uncertainty, but also of the quiet presence of what once was and perhaps still remains—though in an entirely different form. The figures, dressed in skin-toned outfits with their heads covered in paper, seem stripped of individuality. Anyone could be anyone—faceless, without history or past. Their physical presence contrasts with raw landscapes (an abandoned factory, a gravel pit, a cold beach, and a space overgrown with ivy), creating a vision of a world where the individual fades, and the boundary between human and emptiness blurs.
Yet, there is something more in these figures—loneliness, apathy, and fear of the impending catastrophe. Frozen in stillness, they remain suspended, as if awaiting the inevitable, yet lacking the strength to resist. The world around them is silent, yet charged with tension.
The series was created during four photography meetings in 2024 (@plenerbeznazwy, @plener_sanatorium, @pokrzywa_plener and a private session) in collaboration with models: Karina @tanglehair_, @lisiova, Marysia @rose.mary.n_, @julia_mychajlewycz, @electric.princess.cinema, @dziewrona, @ponury_chleptun, @longhaired_aga, Gracja, Melani Meres, and Aleksandra Oparowska.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I am a journalist and cultural theologian by education, an editor and copywriter by profession. I earn my living with words and "unwind" through images (recently). I have 20 years of amateur theater experience, over 500 photo sessions as a model, and two years of trying my hand at photography. I use an Instax on sunny days, a digital camera on cloudy ones, and Lightroom Classic and Photoshop when working on the final image.
