Fine Art nominee

This fruit basket is clearly inspired by Caravaggio's masterpiece exhibited at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan. It is an evolution-dissolution of the painting, as if that basket had remained abandoned there and after a few days retracted again. Some fruits are a little over ripe while few others resist. The leaves are much drier and even the backdrop, which in the painting is a rather uniform yellow, here has some mold stains, a sign that time passes and things change even in a few days.

My name is Flavio Perna. Since the beginning I have tried to interpret Nature in each of my shots, through my own vision, capturing the sense of beauty by exploiting the techniques of macro photography, looking for detail and learning the secrets of light, of how to manage it and project it in the best way on the subject to be photographed in order to do it the best aesthetic justice.

At a later time I then turned my attention to an extraordinary genre: Still Life, historically known in the pictorial field under the name of still life. As in the revolutionary painting of the late 16th century which started from the marvelous brush of Caravaggio, the photographic shot is performed with the Light Painting technique, with which, following my stylistic reading, I try to give a character and a special relevance to common everyday things, such as vegetables, fruit, or normal objects, ancient or modern, that we find in our homes.

I have received over 700 recognitions on photo groups on social media. In 2021 I placed second in a contest of the specialized magazine "Foto Cult". I participated and won in several online contests,
