DESCRIPTION
In philosophy, substance is a concept referring to that which constitutes the most fundamental, independent and unchanging reality that underlies all phenomena and forms. It is what in a given being is constant and remains unchanged until its annihilation. The basis of the identity of a given being, in which are the features and relations.
Essence is the gist, true nature, knowledge. It makes a being what it is. Essence refers to that which is most important or most characteristic to something.
Substance as well as essence touch upon the issue of what is most fundamental and defining for something that is the subject of our attention or analysis. Substance is what underlies our actions and interactions - the elusive essence of human experience that shapes our social life.
The series is inspired by everyday life, which can be interpreted as a search and exploration of essence - various aspects of human life. The need to belong somewhere, the search for acceptance, isolation, rejection, misunderstanding – phenomena that express our uncertainties, unsecurities, fears, desires. They constitute our identity and are the unchanging core, the foundation that shapes our existence in a world that too often focuses on superficiality.

Born in 1984 in Olawa, Poland. Doing mainly staged photography, landscapes, portraits and fashion. Utilising digital and film cameras.
