Winter has a way of slowing everything down, wrapping the world in silence, and turning familiar landscapes into something almost otherworldly. In the Heart of Winter is my attempt to capture that feeling—the quiet stillness, the weight of the snow, and the way the light shifts so delicately in the cold.
Shot with my Polaroid Land Camera 195 on expired Fuji FP-100C film, this series is a reflection of my love for the North. There’s a magic in these landscapes—where towering snow-laden trees stand like frozen sentinels, and the vastness of ice and sky merge into something both infinite and intimate. The way instant film reacts to winter makes each shot feel like a dream—colors shifting unpredictably, and imperfections becoming part of the story. Every print feels like a memory rather than just an image, a fleeting moment frozen in time.
For me, Polaroid photography is more than just taking pictures; it’s a way of being present, of connecting with nature and emotion in a way that feels deeply personal.
