Landscape nominee

I captured this photograph in the heart of the Cirque du Fer à Cheval, in the French Alps. This piece is the result of long hours of waiting, patience, and multiple attempts to capture the ideal weather conditions.

My goal was to find a unique, almost surreal light that would transcend the landscape. That day, after days of observation and perseverance, the clouds and sunrays aligned to create an incredible atmosphere. This scene evoked a deep connection with nature, as if the mountains themselves were imbued with a divine presence.

The subtle interplay of shadows and light across the mountainous massif was precisely what I envisioned for this image, enhancing the feeling of a moment suspended between sky and earth. I experienced a few extraordinary and profoundly spiritual minutes.

Originally from Belgium and self-taught, I began landscape photography in 2010 after completing my studies in sound engineering. My love for nature grew through my explorations. Based in Avignon, France, I capture authentic scenes, from forests to the mountains of the Alps and the Highlands of Scotland.

The pursuit of unique light and captivating compositions drives my work. In 2022, I was honored to receive a special award at the prestigious "The International Landscape Photographer of The Year", followed in 2023 by the Classic View Award at the "UK Landscape Photographer of the Year". These distinctions mark a significant milestone in my artistic journey, strengthening my determination to explore new horizons and share my unique vision of nature.
