The Woodlands (Single)
DESCRIPTION
I captured this image in October, 2024 in the Scottish Highlands. I spent many hours over the course of several rainy days hiking the woodlands in the Scottish Highlands and found myself captivated by their beauty. I'm from the United States and am intimately familiar with the fall colors here: I was raised in Vermont; traveled extensively in the aspens of the Rocky Mountains; and live in the Southeast, close to the Smoky Mountains. But, the colors and shapes of the woodlands are captivating and different than anything I've experienced there. This image was particularly interesting to me given the range of colors and the almost haunting tangle of branches.
