Nature nominee

As a child, I spent a lot of time observing nature and immersing myself in it. The experience was most immediate for me when I sat in the middle of bushes or crawled slowly on my stomach through the tall grass and marveled at this "micro world". From this beetle perspective, I was able to delve into an unknown side of the plant world, which appeared to me in a completely different way than when I looked at it standing upright from above, from outside, so to speak.
These experiences have left their mark on me and I still regularly immerse myself in this fascinating world, but now always with my camera. In my opinion the images that are created also reflect what I experience emotionally on these fantastic forays, which increases the "density of experience" when viewed.

I take the pictures in RAW format, which gives me a lot of scope to set accents when working in the digital darkroom, and sometimes I push the controls „too far“ to adjust the atmosphere in a photo to my experience.

They are only edited in the digital darkroom, not „photoshoped".

Born 1953 in Switzerland. Attended the School of Arts and Crafts in Zurich. Later I was painting in Spain and met the sculptor José de Alberdi, who was a former teacher at „Saint Martins University Of The Arts“ in London, and had the chance to become his assistant. Deeply fascinated by Sculpture
I went to England and graduated 1983 from the sculpture class of the „City And Guilds Of London Art School“, with a diploma and the 1st prize for sculpture.
Since then I am working as a freelance artist.

Regarding photography:

I've always been a photographer, and in

2003 I began to deal with digital photography and the artistic design possibilities of photo editing on the computer.

Since 2010 I have been exhibiting annually at the international art exhibition "openArt" in Roveredo (GR). From 2010 to 2014 I presented large photographic works, with dimensions of up to 3m x 4m, which where hung in the forest on the exhibition grounds in the same trees that were the basis for the edited photos.
