AUTHOR
Maciej Pastuszka, 1970
In my work I use analog photographic techniques, in particular the 19th century “wet plate” collodion technique. It is an extremely demanding, unique and, in a sense, unpredictable technique, which makes it possible to obtain very plastic silver images on a glass plate, often “enriched” with various artifacts created by a chemical process unchanged for more than 170 years.
I photograph people. I am fascinated by the process of creation and working with a model. Favorite subjects of my work are portrait and nude. Using the historical photographic method, I try to create contemporary images full of simplicity, showing the emotion and beauty of the body clothed in light and shadow.
I run my own photographic studio “Atelier Fortuna” at the Old Town Square in Lublin, where I have collected old, large-format photographic equipment, used every day in my work - a kind of living museum of photography. I participate in open-air events and photography competitions. My works have been presented at several solo exhibitions and more than a dozen group exhibitions. I organize photography workshops.
I am professionally engaged in surgery.
