DESCRIPTION
“Street Flowers 4” focuses on the ephemeral and ever changing nature of being. The photograph is of flowers being sold from a stand on the Upper West Side. Color, light, and compositional changes were used to manipulate the elements within the photograph as to more fully express the protean nature of their beauty, and by reference, the beauty of all things.
AUTHOR
Sam Rittenberg is a New York and Dominican Republic based photographer whose work explores the paradoxical nature of existence. His work expresses his belief that by capturing the infinite within the ordinary, a photograph can serve as a portal to that which is ordinarily beyond us. His work has been frequently recognized by juried international competitions, including the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3), the Fine Art Photography Awards, the International Photo Awards (IPA), and the Refocus World Photo Annual.
