My approach is to capture instants, textures and moments in suspense, a collection of little things that we glimpse briefly. I try to freeze these brief moments in time, to make them my own, to give them materiality through photography. My photographic action is above all compulsive and mechanical. I capture everything that strikes me as both beautiful and incongruous, whether it's the light hitting a stone, a butterfly landing on rotting fruit or the reflection of a copper object in a sink. As a result, I have an ever-growing library of instant images.
This series, « h(om)e », begun in 2022, is my quest to make the world around me my own by ignoring its brutality in the search for moments of grace, however tenuous they may be. Drawing and embroidery come into play once the image has been embodied on paper, combining the spontaneity of inscribing a sign with the repetitive mechanics of embroidery. Embroidery is used to embellish and materialise the image produced. There is a search for a mutation of the digital towards the material. This tension between digital photography and repetitive acts is echoed and transformed into an almost meditative gesture.
Each photograph is unique.
