1 year ago my son Yūri and I were separated as a consequence of child abduction in Japan. I could not do anything about it, and I still can’t to this day.
But since then, I chose to keep living in Ōokayama, where we spent his first 4 years together.
Since then, it does not pass a day that I am not reminded of him by the places that surround me: these places have nothing special, they are completely ordinary to everyone’s eyes.
But to me they remind me of Yūri every single time I pass by. I see this emptiness everywhere.
I tried to communicate this feeling of “someone missing” with the only medium I know, photography.
The series is actually more extended on my website, if anyone is interested.
I hope one day Yūri will understand I never stopped loving him for 1 sec.
