This is the project with a goal to spread the awareness about the dementia and try to show the people - what it looks like.
Dementia - is the horrible disease, which slowly taking every piece of the personality of the one, who was unfortunate to face it. The person, who's got it, day by day drowning in a dark, cold, thick void of nightmares, confusing the surroundings with wounded imagination, until the only thing remained is a living ghost of someone he used to be.
My beloved Granddad was diagnosed with dementia in a late stage - when his condition became too obvious for the official diagnoses. Short after he was moved to the Care Home, where I took these series of photos, visiting him one day.
On this photos you can see him looking at his own reflection, but struggling to realise - who is looking back on him. Also you can see his face surrounded by darkness, partially stayed under the light - I feel like there's not much more to explain about it.
Please, be aware about the nature of this disease and spend as much time as possible with someone, who was affected by it.
