Photojournalism nominee

I recently lost my childhood home in the Palisades Fire, and was able to revisit the devastation site just days after the fires scorched the area. Between choking on sobs, I intuitively wielded the camera I learned to shoot film on -- my mom's old Yashica-A -- around the neighborhood. This image is of my next door neighbor's house, or rather what still stands of it.
