About Janne, 61 years old, who has lived in homelessness for 17 years.
It is an exhibition that tries to show the complexity of being human. To be alone, frozen, ashamed, sick and carry heavy sorrows, but also in the midst of this find peace, warmth, joy and community. This without romanticizing or embellishing a life of homelessness – but just telling them that this is how life can be.
It started when they met in a church about two years ago. One in his profession as a security guard, the other who sought out the warmth of the church, got to drink a cup of coffee and talk to others. Stefan Hessman has worked as a security guard for 20 years and has come across many people who are having a hard time and who live a hard life. Janne, who he met in church on his shifts, has been homeless since 2007. They started talking, found each other and when Janne saw Stefan's pictures, Janne invited Stefan to follow his life with his camera.
