Tristesse (Single)
DESCRIPTION
Tristesse depicts a traditional mussel trap in the Po Delta, emerging from the water in the morning mist. The long exposure softens the boundary between water and sky, creating an infinite, ethereal expanse in which the delicate structure appears to float. The minimalist composition and muted tones enhance the sense of silence, isolation, and transience.
AUTHOR
I was born in Germany in 1968 and have been taking photographs since the 1980s, back then still analogue and black and white. I developed and enlarged the photos myself in my own lab.
Then, a few years ago, I switched to digital and have a great love for minimalist fine art and black and white.
In my landscape photos, I try to make the silence and loneliness, sometimes even sadness, tangible.
For a few years now, I have been making large fine art prints, which has brought me full circle.
