DESCRIPTION
Hope amidst the dark. This was taken at the Belfry of Ghent, Belgium in August 2024. Amidst the dark twilight, light shines on the lone man at the bus stop with his back hunched over, seemingly like there is a greater power watching over him. That struck me as symbolic of the role of the dragon perched on top of the Belfry, which serves as the city’s guardian angel; keeping its eye on the city, ensuring there is light (hope) even in the darkest hours.
