What is the present and how is the time between past and future perceived in a particular environment? HALLE is a photographic exploration of urban space. In this multi-part work, I tried to combine urban settings in a documentary way, in which the random moment is given a conscious meaning. The place is seen in fragments, possibly due to the temporal interruptions.
Characteristic for HALLE are the different moods and the reduced, almost mysterious compositions. The photographs look like stage sets with their very own dramaturgical visual language – detached from classic documentary photography, but without ignoring the existing social reality.
What we see are photographic reflections of intangible sections, facades and structures, often interspersed with sketchy lines. Like a metaphorical vein work, they try to combine the abstract motifs with minimal specific pictorial information about the location: untold urban stories can be seen in several chapters. The public space becomes a documentation of silent actions and found situations in which motif and scenery merge into a single picture. The close-up shots of passing moments are also references to fragile realities, which we encounter with a contradictory beauty and which allow us to continue thinking about them in the present...
