Street Photography nominee

In "Snowfall over Basel," I capture candid moments of the city transformed under a rare blanket of snow. The bustling streets are quieted, and the familiar urban landscape becomes a serene stage for fleeting, poetic stories. Each photograph invites the viewer to pause and experience Basel in a moment of stillness, where time seems suspended, and everyday life is reimagined in this tranquil setting.

Bastian Peter is a self-taught fine art, conceptual and street photographer based in Basel, Switzerland. His work moves between candid documentary observation and carefully constructed images exploring identity, perception, movement and the tension between clarity and abstraction.

His photographs and series have been exhibited in Basel, Zurich, Hamburg, Venice and Treviso. His work has received international recognition from LensCulture, Life Framer, MonoVisions Photography Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards, the CEWE Photo Award and the Street Photographers Foundation.

Bastian Peter is a member of the Basler Kunstgesellschaft, serves on the board of KunstWerk Basel and founded the Swiss Street Collective. Alongside photography, he works as a traditional Larvenmacher and Larvenmaler at Larven Atelier Charivari in Basel.
