Curious (Single)
DESCRIPTION
It was bitterly cold, -34°C. The Siberian Jay (Perisoreus infaustus), a naturally curious bird, is even more so in such harsh conditions. Drawn by the sounds of human activity, they approach, hoping for food. In its natural surroundings, this frozen wilderness, surrounded by photogenic, snow-laden pines, the jay flits back and forth. Its behavior is for sure a mix of curiosity and survival instinct. A 35mm double exposure.

Born in one of the smallest towns you can find in the Netherlands, I now live and work in one of the largest metropolitan areas of Finland. I love the days when steel and concrete are replaced by the wilderness of nature. Once back in that remote forest or grassland I channel my passion to nature photography.
My style of photography has been referred to as imaginative and minimalistic, whilst others have likened it to the Scandinavian designs or the Nordic way of living. For me, it is important to respect nature and present the subject and surroundings in a manner of its simplest components; function over form. That is how I experience nature and at the core of who I am. That should make a difference, in fact it makes all the difference.
I am on the never-ending pursuit of that next ‘cracking shot’ & long may it continue.
