Escape
Modern society is characterised by a constant confrontation with complex realities: wars, migrations, social tensions, racial and ethnic identities, demands from LGBTQI+ and other communities, as well as personal challenges such as stress, health, family conflicts, addictions, and so on. Faced with this accumulation of pressures, the human spirit instinctively seeks ways out, moments of relaxation to recharge its batteries.
“Escape” is an abstract photographic project that offers viewers a moment of respite, a space for dreaming and meditation. The project is based on the theories of light and colour, in particular the analysis of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, which proposes an emotional and subjective approach to colour, where each shade carries a specific emotional charge capable of influencing the viewer's state of mind.
Although not figurative, the images evoke a sense of déjà vu while opening the door to new and unexpected interpretations. Each picture is conceived as a meditative space into which the viewer is invited to project his or her own emotions and dreams. Vivid, contrasting colours, subtle gradations and flashes of light are used to create atmospheres that vary from image to image, acting as a catalyst for mental escape.
