Conceptual 3rd place winner

This series began as a response to the idealized family album, challenging the typical "happy family" aesthetic. Instead of white shirts and smiles, I used stockings to distort familiar faces, creating a sense of distance and discomfort. Over time, the project evolved to explore the idea of 'strangers' within my family—those who exist in a limbo between familiar and unknown. Whether it's a distant cousin, a strange uncle met only once, or family members who now live only in photographs, these portraits reflect that tension.
