"I hear voices evoking spells wrapped in forbidden dreams. I feel the warmth of invisible hands holding me captive, while a black storm disrupts the rules of the world around me.
In the darkness of the night, the fire within me dances among the flames, a wild energy burning in the dark, while the moon silently observes, accomplice to my rebellious spirit. Pain creeps under my skin but I will pay with my courage. The wisdom of the moon reflects on me in a mysterious and haunting way. Its light hides secrets among the shadows and wonders are obscured by mist. Inaccessible to those who dare not face the terror, my soul hides beyond appearances. Enchantment, the accusations I receive and the hands that wrap around me dissolve in my fervour, like arrows swallowed by the darkness of my abyss."
The anguish and restlessness are woven behind the vibrant explosion of colours, which turns into a cage with iridescent reflections, a tangible symbol of isolation and lack of communication. However, the immersion into the depths of the soul brings to light a sharp truth: certain desires can become cages from which escape is possible, but it requires courage and sacrifice.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Nicoletta Cerasomma is a photographer and surrealist pop artist with a clear, graphic and strong language. Her studies in fashion photography and her experience in staged photography inspired her meticulous aesthetic.
Her work is highly conceptual and complex: as surrealist artist, she incorporates archetypes and cultural iconography with satirical narratives inspired by the collective unconsciousness. Her images come from a personal place of exploration where she dreams about living a thousand lives in one.
With language typical of pop surrealism and a predilection for abstract composition, her photography has become a narrative medium with a unique and recognisable visual code. She works with light, shadow and colour to create images that evoke stories and provoke fantasies.
Nicoletta is inspired by the dichotomy between the themes of Beauty and Decay, which she loves to incorporate into her work in order to evoke contemplation and debate on the human condition, using a vivid and provocative still imagery and a cinematic technique.
Since 2020, her work, which depicts women placed in evocative scenarios, has won many nominations and awards. Presented for the first time in the Sony World Photography Award competition, her work was selected as a winner finalist in the creative category.
