Time chippings
The surreality of reality, “chips” of life in urban space.
This is a Berlin photographic serie, created using the timelapse technique by placing the camera in different corners and places, sometimes even chosen without any specific intention, during wanderings through the city of Berlin.
The resulting sequences were processed in post-production by overlapping the random passers-by who were captured in the frame several times. In a second intervention parts of the figures are erased leaving in the image only details and dismembered particulars that together create a sort of composition with a surreal and ironic character.
Over time, the numerous pedestrians temporarily fill different portions of the space, leaving momentary traces, which in this case are fixed and frozen as a whole. The remaining fragments that, even if at first glance appear extraneous to the image, are actually an integral part of it, leaving traces of dynamic life in a static context.
