The "EXPOSE" photo series emerged from a personal reflection during a midlife crisis, where I looked back at my past and personal growth. There was a time when I struggled with being around people and felt exposed, observed, and out of place, even in simple situations like waiting at a bus stop.
Fortunately, those feelings are now in the past. Inspired by these memories and my work as a psychiatric nurse, where I encounter people with similar issues, I decided to capture these experiences in a photo series.
In "EXPOSE," the bus stop symbolizes a place where people from different backgrounds and life perspectives unintentionally meet. It's a setting where we often judge others, sometimes unfairly. The empty bus stops in my photos highlight the loneliness that can exist among people.
To emphasize vulnerability, I chose to use nude photography but aimed to blend the body with the image, showing the process of exposure through long-exposure shots. The model, Isa, starts clothed and gradually undresses, revealing her vulnerability.
Finding suitable bus stops for the nude photos was challenging. I needed locations with good ambient light, minimal advertisements, and low foot traffic. I scouted over 100 bus stops in Lucerne and
