Experimental nominee

"White Knight" is a deeply personal project that began last month in the wake of my father’s passing. Taken within the same week of his death, these images serve as an exploration of life, death, and love, themes that have taken on new depth in my own experience of grief.

By applying vaseline to the camera lens, I create a soft, hazy effect that mirrors the foggy perspective my father likely experienced in his final months, as a brain tumor gradually claimed his clarity. The resulting blur not only reflects his fading presence, but also evokes the sensation of looking through tear-filled eyes—those moments when grief distorts our vision, and light seems to flare and fracture around us.
