"Bengali Bloom" is a beauty shoot that celebrates the essence of Bengali womanhood through the union of beauty, culture, and nature. At its core lies a poignant and meaningful collaboration between me, the photographer, and the incomparable Raima Sen, a true icon of Bengali cinema.
The idea behind "Bengali Bloom" was to explore the concept of femininity as it is perceived in Bengali culture. The traditional Bengali woman is often depicted as a gentle soul, deeply connected to nature and her roots. In this shoot, I wanted to capture this essence through the simple yet powerful act of Raima Sen holding flowers against her lips.
For Raima, the shoot was an opportunity to reconnect with her heritage and celebrate the beauty of her culture. For me, it was a chance to explore the intricate relationship between femininity, nature, and self-expression. Together, we crafted a story that transcends mere beauty and becomes a poignant tribute to the Bengali woman.

Driven by a passion ignited at age of 15, I honed my skills with a Masters in Photography from Goldsmiths University and an internship in London, before returning to the artistically rich environment of Kolkata. For the past 16 years, I have masterfully captured the interplay of light, color, and texture, creating timeless compositions that reveal the inner essence of my subjects, infusing serenity and power into my work.
My career includes significant contributions to national brand campaigns and celebrity shoots. A defining moment came in December 2020 with the "Photographer of the Year" award from Sanmarg Aparajita, India, a testament to their artistic vision and technical expertise.
Nominated for "Fashion Photographer of the Year," I seek to elevate my career and amplify my vision. This award offers a platform for global recognition and appreciation among industry leaders. As a female photographer in a male-dominated field,I am committed to paving the way for future generations of female photographers and creative artists, and inspiring them to achieve their dreams through hard work and perseverance.
