WOMB
Discovering geological caves, I was fascinated by the combined action of time and water.
This in a context of darkness and isolation having favored a sort of germination, flowering of the stone in the form of incredible 3-dimensional structures.
I quickly saw it as a metaphor for all creation, requiring time, darkness, protection.
I was there facing a mystery revealed, a glimpse of the origins, an immense underground embryo unfolding its forms like so many genes expressing themselves in infinite variety.
And so I had the idea of putting into abyss, of merging mineral evolution with the emergence of the human being as we know him today in his appearance, his history and his creations.
