Potential shows a young flamingo in a nest of blooming magnolia flowers. As they begin their sweet young life, a flamingo’s feathers don’t start with that flamboyant pink hue. This develops over time from their nurturing food source, giving meaning to the saying, “You are what you eat.” In turn, they symbolize each individual’s need to be nurtured so we can reach our true Potential. Nature is always teaching us if we only stop and listen.
I created the paint elements, then photographed and added them to the image.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
I am a fine art photographer from New Zealand. I feel my recent works come from a place of layering, intuition, and experimentation and exist somewhere between painting and photography.
Creating brings me a sense of peace and offers a place to let dreams and ideas become a reality, my highest goal is to convey that same feeling of serenity and magic to my audience, offering a window to a world where everything and anything is possible.
I have sold my works in several group exhibitions, have been published for 4 years running in the NZ Camera Book, and have also received PSNZ Licentiate Honours.
I think nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, not subject to fads and trends; it has a timeless beauty.
