Unreal

The Dutch Friesian horses are by nature soft in character but giants when they are showed, a contrast in itself. I wanted to portray this Friesian beauty as almost untouchable to emphasize the impression they make on people around the world. So beautiful and in this pictures he is almost an unreal beauty, unaware of his own attraction.

Photographing this beauty in an almost surreal setting created this juxtaposition between his character and the way he shows.

As a self-taught artist, I bring instinct as well as experience to my work—years spent working with horses at an international level have given me an intimate understanding of their behaviour, character, and unique energy.
I now observe and photograph horses from a more intentional and visual perspective. My experience allows me to connect with them in a way that results in strong portraits that are both intimate and emotionally resonant. I also strive to capture not only the quiet beauty of the horse, but also moments of powerful and surreal movement.
