The Red Rose Collection, reimagines The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry through a personal lens. It visualizes the red rose from the story, symbolized as a woman stranded on the Little Prince’s planet, her tears turning the sands red, in line with the Persian metaphor of crying blood, symbolizing the pain of waiting for him. But now, her tears have dried, and she can no longer cry, numbness has overtaken her, leaving only the silent weight of longing.
The collection explores waiting as both a painful and transformative emotional journey, illustrating how prolonged anticipation can strip a person of their passion and vibrancy. Also it explores the deep connection between the character and nature(wind, sun, and sand)showing how a lonely person delves deep into her roots to find peace. In her solitude, nature becomes a quiet companion, offering small moments of comfort. The collection alternates between color and black & white to reflect the emotional shifts. The colorful images symbolize the conscious act of waiting, infused with the lingering presence of hope.In contrast, the black & white images represent mourning and loss, capturing the moment when hope fades into silent grief.Through these photos,I explore the complex emotions of hope, loss, and numbness, offering a nuanced portrayal of the emotional journey of waiting.
