Still Lifes is a series based on the old master painters of the 17th century. In the series, for instance, I work continuously from one light source, a window, as was done in the 17th century. Because of the colour palette and post-processing, these still lifes appear to be paintings. I have incorporated antique silver objects in my photos, such as the silver Heda Tazza that the Dutch painter Willem Claesz himself used in several works in 1635. One of those paintings is shown in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. All the objects photographed are actually 17th-century.
The series was created thanks to four antique dealers who were willing to lend me all the objects.
