Naturally Cold (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Between emotional chaos and world-weariness - surreal and dystopian. This series explores the subtle transformation of our society through the increasing presence of artificial intelligence and the drive for self-optimisation. I wanted to capture how technologies such as AI and the ideals of cosmetic surgery influence not only our self-image, but also our interpersonal relationships. The staging deliberately plays with artificiality and coldness - the figures often appear distant and their flawless surfaces almost make the human element disappear. I was fascinated by the tension between the pursuit of perfection and what is lost on an emotional level. It's not about passing judgement, but about making this fine line between optimisation and alienation visible. Each picture in the series harbours a certain ambivalence: appealing and perfect at first glance, on closer inspection they reveal an inner emptiness.
AUTHOR
Sina Poch, born 1995 in Cologne, initially studied art history. After years of strategic image analysis and interpretation of foreign art, she wanted to create something of her own and leave the analyzing to others. So she followed her heart and started studying photography. Between emotional chaos and world agony, she developed a passion for the surreal and dystopia. Whether self-deprecating and amusing or socially critical: Her photos should evoke emotions and reflection. For her, photography is not a means to an end, but a way of expressing yourself honestly. Through her affinity for past and future times, she creates a break from the present in her works. To put it in Egon Schiele's words: “Art cannot be modern; Art is eternal. "
