This series is dedicated to the trees of Riisitunturi National Park in Finnish Lapland, where during winter a unique and extraordinary phenomenon occurs: the formation of arctic hoarfrost on the spruce trees.
This natural spectacle is made possible by the specific climatic conditions of the park's swampy hills; high humidity and freezing temperatures encourage the abundant formation of ice crystals, which force the trees to bend under their weight, taking on shapes that resemble strange creatures.
