In this series, I aim to merge the profound wisdom of ancient Chinese poetry with the visual elegance of black-and-white film. The series focuses on portraying the intricate connection between trees and the sky, depicting branches as pulsating arteries.
"New trees thrive while the sick one withers." This is quoted from my inspiration poem, which is translated from Chinese into English. The overarching theme explores the lifecycle of trees, where the pulsation within their branches symbolizes not only vitality but also carries the promise of renewal. Each photograph aims to convey the resilience and perpetual rebirth inherent in nature.
The project endeavors to integrate the symbolic essence of ancient Chinese poetry. By capturing the branches of dying trees, the series reflects on the million others who embrace their spring – a visual representation of hope, continuity, and the eternal cycle of life.
