Nature nominee

I have a chronic illness that means I often can't leave the house. For this reason, I take a lot of photos from my windows - of the sky or the garden. This series shows a series of pictures that were all taken from the windows of my house - on days when I was physically very unwell. I never miss an opportunity to admire the beauty of nature. The trees on the other side of the railway tracks in the forest, my garden pond and its grasses or the sky.

In my photographs, I show the fleeting moments inside and outside of us, the beauty in everything and the unbearable simultaneity of things: beauty and pain, light and darkness.

I have been photographing nature since 2019, mainly in my immediate surroundings, in the forest opposite, the sky from the bridge around the corner. I can find something to love everywhere.

I often work with grease and liquids on my lense to gain a soft, dreamy effect.

I studied communication design and graduated in photography in 2010. Due to a serious chronic illness, I started going for daily walks, preferably in the forest. I discovered how good it was for me, all the light, the weather, the freedom in the forest, the peace and quiet, the darkness towards evening. I also began to observe the sky. For example, I saw the halo effect for the first time in my life.
At some point, I began to capture the moods of nature, the poetic, the melancholic, the brief moments. People who look at my pictures always tell me that they have a healing, magnetic effect on them and that it does them good to look at them.
I've also always written. I've also had a column in a major German magazine. Every picture that is sold is accompanied by a lyrical text. My art is therefore a combination of reading and seeing. In my pictures, I experiment a lot with liquids and grease on the lens.

I am in the advertising industry and have my own agency.

Since 2023 I now also sell my work on artfairs and on request.
