Mocha Clouds captures the fleeting beauty of nature through a dreamlike, weightless composition. Inspired by cloud formations, I foraged and handpicked seasonal flowers from the lush subtropical landscapes of the Gold Coast, selecting delicate, airy petals, pom-pom blooms, and layered florals to evoke a floating, suspended lightness.
Each flower was arranged by hand and captured upside down on a high-resolution flatbed scanner - my signature technique - allowing the image to transition from sharp, intricate detail into a soft, painterly blur, creating ethereal depth without distortion.
As a botanical photographic artist, my work reimagines floral forms through a contemporary lens, blending organic textures with a sculptural, surreal quality. Through post-processing, I crafted a tonal palette of mocha, taupe, and rich chocolate hues - earthy yet ethereal - resonating with modern interior aesthetics.
