These images were part of my botanical instatalation for the flowerfestival féerie florale Aldenbiesen. Theme 2024 was: New beginnings

For this flowerfestival, I found my inspiration in two things:
- My life is a continious storm, with pauses inbetween. After each storm there's a new beginning.
- The bible story Adam&Eve.

For this project I chalenged myself how far can you go with just 1 botanical element: leafs.
My botanical sculpture (torso's of Adam&Eve) was made entirely out of hederaleafs using a papermakemethod. In the accompagnied photos I only used Alocasia leafs.

In my installation I wanted to add something personal.
My life is very subject to movement. It's just one big storm. One minute everything is calm, and suddenly I find myself in the middle of a storm. (workrelated or innerstorm emotional) No mather how strong/intense the storm is , there's always that moment the storm weakens and it get's silent. In that silent moment you get the opportunity to catch your breath, reflext, relax, enjoy. To get back on track, overwin or take a step back. Because before you know it, the storm is back or a new one arrives. A vicious circle.

A dutch artist, working freelance worldwide in the mediums photography and floral art. Graduated as graphic designer , started in wedding/studiophotography. Changed careerpath (2011) into floral art, but kept working with photography. Discoverd fineart underwaterphotography in 2020. This combined with Floral art in the surreal world below surface, is the perfect comingtogether of photography and floralart. Finds inspiration in emotions, nature, and artdisciplines.
