In the depths of winter, proglacial lagoons freeze solid, locking drifting icebergs in place and allowing them to be explored on foot. After a heavy rainstorm flooded the frozen surface with ankle-deep water, the entire landscape was transformed into a vast, glassy mirror. Walking among and inside these towering icebergs felt like stepping into another world. A drone was used through the frigid night to illuminate the ripples sculpted into the glassy walls, revealing intricate textures normally hidden in darkness.

Liam Man earned international acclaim as a photographer, artist, explorer, and environmentalist. Specialising in nocturnal landscape photography and aerial light painting, his work is dedicated to changing how we see our world, garnering numerous awards and honours including being awarded the title of “Open Photographer of the Year” at the 2024 World Photography Awards.
