Eight years ago, I turned to photography as a way to navigate through personal hardships, recently compounded by diagnoses of depression and anxiety. Creating art has become a sanctuary for me, offering a sense of purpose and belonging.
My inspiration lies in the practice of mindfulness, using photography as a tool to remain present and truly notice the world around me. This approach is exemplified in my piece titled "Peace." In this photograph, light filters down a shadowed staircase, symbolizing the journey from darkness to tranquility. The ethereal glow and soft focus convey a sense of calm and introspection, reflecting my inner quest for serenity amidst turmoil.
Photography, for me, is not just about capturing images but about expressing deeper emotional narratives. Each shot is an exploration of light and shadow, a study of the interplay between hope and despair. Through "Peace," I aim to share a moment of quiet reflection, inviting viewers to find their own sense of calm in the chaos.
Ultimately, my work is about connection and storytelling. I hope to inspire others to see the beauty in the present moment and to appreciate the art of noticing, just as photography has taught me.
