This photo project explores the vibrant, textured beauty of fresh produce. The first image showcases the striking contrast between the deep red Swiss chard stalks and the rich green leaf. Red and green are complementary colors, meaning they sit opposite each other on the color wheel. This contrast enhances the visual intensity of both colors, making the red appear more vibrant and the green more lush and natural. -The next image highlights the interplay of the pale yellow melon and its seeds against the bright blue background. Yellow and blue, as complementary colors, create a dynamic visual balance. The soft warmth of the melon contrasts beautifully with the cool blue, making each element stand out while maintaining harmony in the overall composition. These complementary color schemes effectively create striking visual tension and balance within each photograph, enhancing their aesthetic appeal.

Mariia Sokor is a photographer and educator originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, based in USA, PA. She holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from the National Academy of Arts. Her work has been featured in numerous prestigious exhibitions, including Blank Wall Gallery, Boomer Gallery, and Decode Gallery. Her photographs have appeared in a wide range of publications, including Éclair Magazine, PhotoVogue, 6XMAGAZINE, Artells, and Top Posters Magazine. She is a recipient of several awards, including the IPA, 35AWARDS, and the Food Photographer of the Year “Commended”, which highlight her influence and excellence in the field.
