As I found myself distant from the idea I once had of myself, I started this self-portrait project to transform solitude into fertile ground for redefining a new identity. Nature, free from imposed structures, was part of this journey to redefine my sense of femininity. Silent and welcoming, it has been the backdrop of inner reconciliation.
I sought a refuge that does not judge, places where I could redefine myself. Places of lava that shapes a new territory, of winds that infuse energy, of rocks that whisper stability and permanence.
A new identity is redefined elsewhere, built on the rediscovery of what remains and what is transformed.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
After completing scientific studies and obtaining a PhD, I approached photography during a time of significant personal change. Since then, I started a long-term self-portrait project centered on the integration of the body with nature. Self-portraiture became a way to analyse the facets of my identity and affirm myself. Another recurring theme in my photographs is isolated and boundless places where humans are only a distant presence.
