Painting with Light (Series)
DESCRIPTION
The great Miroslav Tichý once stated, "Photography is painting with light.” Light can fall at various intensities and highlight areas differently daily, creating countless ways to paint with light.
AUTHOR
Michelle Ranee Johnson is an avid self-taught adventure, landscape, nature, and fine art photographer. Her photo “The Parched Earth” was chosen by National Geographic Yourshot to be published in their “A Planet in Balance” assignment (September 2019) and was exhibited at Photofest 2019 in November 2019 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Won Honorable Mention in the Extreme Sports Professional Division at the 2023 IPA Awards for her series “Women Wanderers.” Peoples Vote Award Winner in the Professional Landscape Division Participant in the 2023 reFocus Black and White Photo Awards. She just won Honorable Mention in the Mono Awards Professional Landscape Division for her photo “Pristine.” 2018 Rock and Ice Photo Camp (one of her photos was featured in Ascent 2019). Cover shot and photos depicted in “The Sky is the Limit” in Frisco Style, September 2019, Frisco, TX. She has worked with Mad Rock, Rocktape, Arc’teryx, and Adidas/Five Ten. Her work has also been exhibited in numerous galleries, such as Las Laguna Art Gallery, Praxis Art Gallery, and R Gallery. She has had a solo online exhibit, “Cloudscapes,” at Red Bluff Art Gallery, CA. Also, four photos are on a permanent online exhibit at R Gallery, CO.
