Photojournalism 3rd place winner

Llico 10pm.The fire is getting stronger and the smoke is filling the air in the area.That makes us see only the silhouettes of the trees and the people who are trying to put out,or rather,to reduce even a little,the fire that has already taken over the 7th region.The fire also wants to take over the 8th and in fact,it was already doing so.Even the 9th.In 2017,entire towns suffered the consequences of the fire and some were left in ashes,such as Santa Olga or Llico.In Chile,summers are like this;mega-fires are noticed in different regions and a new season begins.That time,it was the pine and eucalyptus regions that assumed the consequences and different hypotheses began.Law changed and with this,the fires decreased.But they moved.Years later,the land use law was sleeping in a diplomatic sleep,while entire hills in Viña del Mar,Valparaíso and Quilpué,among others,burned.The El Sauce,El Olivar and Villa Independencia occupations succumbed to the fire and destroyed the political dreams of their inhabitants.Hundreds of people died and only third parties are known to have existed.The law was finally voted on, but rejected.FIRE travels through these places,of vanished dreams,and the human work for their recovery while foreign interests leave the media's veracity in doubt.
