Photomanipulation nominee

This image, born from a real-life experience, is a visual ode to the pursuit of happiness. Part of my 'Visions from Another Continent' series, it intertwines the raw beauty of Australia, where I called home for five years, with the timeless heritage of my native Spain.

Crafted from over 150 Photoshop layers, this photomontage unveils a whimsical journey: a group of marsupials venturing across the ocean to explore Spain's ancient ruins. Their quest embodies the work's core message: embrace life's adventures, savor fleeting moments of wonder (like the majestic white horse), and cherish the small joys that grace each day (the tiny bird). Even in the face of adversity (the poised seagull), find resilience, for negative experiences can shape us in profound ways.

Captured with a 50 Mpix camera and a razor-sharp fixed lens, the image invites you to ponder: What truly constitutes a life well-lived? Is it the grand adventures, the serendipitous encounters, or the quiet appreciation of everyday beauty? This image is an invitation to seek your own answers, to find joy in the journey, and to remember that even life's challenges can contribute to our personal growth.

Photography has been my passion since I was a kid, and artistic photography is what makes me feel fulfilled as a person. Humans have the capacity to imagine different worlds, and artistic photography is able to bring them to life as sharp as you would see them through your own eyes.
