Simple moments settle along the strand of our existences. Mine, distinct and reverent to me, but only a detail of something much more significant. A vast history of human experience unceasingly repeated on mountaintops, soaked into the roots below, buried in the caverns, woven into the fabric of the landscape. A re-iterated history with my sorrows, joys, regrets, and victories wrapped along side so many others.
My single, deeply personal, but brief flashpoint instance is only part of a much more expansive whole. I retreat to these places to celebrate, to grieve, to think, to simply exist. Sometimes the multitudes of the past, present, and potential future emotions of all those who stood here before or will stand here next, collide. Using only one original image I am attempting to re-create what you would see when my moment integrates itself into this history of experience and the natural world stands guard and bears testimony to it all.
