This surreal collage is inspired by the story of Sero, a zebra that escaped from a children’s zoo and wandered into the city, becoming a sensation. The encounter with Sero in a residential alley—a situation both bizarre and bewildering—led me to explore new ideas about coexistence between humans, nature, and other beings.
Modern society is progressing rapidly, and in the process, our connection with nature is weakening. This surreal photography project aims to transcend that disconnect, breaking down the boundaries between animals, humans, and urban spaces. In the images, Sero blends seamlessly into the everyday cityscape, inviting viewers to experience the city through curious eyes, and making his presence known in unexpected ways.
It invites reflection on how animals find their place in our modern lives, offering comfort and inspiration within our daily routines. Ultimately, the work encourages us to rethink the meaning of coexistence and community and to imagine a world where animals can roam freely and we learn to live in harmony with them.
