DISINTEGRATION
The pictures in the “disintegration” series act as a reminder that with the passage of time when things slowly decay and degenerate, beauty can continue to flourish. The pictures symbolize this constant change, inviting us to find beauty in disintegration. Incessantly lashed by the elements over time, the pier featured in the pictures, continues to evolve, crumble and disintegrate, whilst holding onto a sense of timeless elegance.
Over the course of several weeks I repeatedly returned, in the dead of night, to this same beach. Spending many early mornings waiting for the sun to slowly rise over the Arabian Sea. My time spent there, creating these pictures was both inspirational and spiritual. Whilst on the beach shrouded in the veil of a new dawn, I felt happy and all alone in the world, present in the moment without distraction. It seemed like time stood still - for a while at least. I’m sure that when I next return to this enchanting place, if indeed I do, there will be not a single trace of this once glorious structure. A very apt metaphor for our connection to the passage of time on this shared planet of ours…
