As a wildlife photographer, I always try to picture the animals with several point of views. I particularly like the close ups, because tight portraits always reveal the best of the animal expression and feelings. To me, the holy graal is being allowed and accepted by the animal, so I can gradually approach him. Most of time, it takes tens of minutes, or even hours, but eventually when it works the animal does not pay attention to me anymore and live his life. I make myself almost invisible, then I can shoot the animal living his normal life. Obviously when the animal shows me some discomfort, I never insist. I like taking pictures from different POV, like this old big tusked elephant taken from below, or in harsh conditions like this mountain lion family in a snow storm, or this pod of sleeping whale in a rough open sea.
I secretly hope my work could inspire people and children, like I was inspired by the great names of photography when I was a kid.
